Alphans... all doomed ...

Just some tweaks to what was released - Alan Carter in his Moonbase uniform and changes to the female crew to put them in the season 1 pants , instead of the skirts...a few security team members with custom made uniforms (http://www.classictvtoys.com) ... and a Dr Helena Russell made with a resin cast head...thank you eBay

 

 

 

 

Spaceman Spiff and Pals

Got a set of the old vintage Eagle crew members (Koenig ,Russell, Bergman) and gave them some decals and paint apps to replicate TV accurate flight suits.

and with some G.I.Joe and 2009 Star Trek heads I made a few other Alphans.

...and a few shots to show off the attempt at TV accurate details.

 

Space 1999 ??? more like 1979..So Retro...

I took some Star Trek 3 3/4 inch figures and with some paint and head swapping- made several Alphans. To avoid extra sculpting - I kept their boots exposed as they would when they went planet side. A coat of white paint and a properly colored sleeve and we get :

Commander John Koenig (using a vintage eagle figure head)

then Alan Carter , Paul Morrow and David Kano

and some security guards (the still need that extra bandolier/shoulder straps) and a random technician

Still want to track down some Uhura figure or similar female figures to make Helena Russell and Maya

Space 1999 - Moon Base Alpha

Thanks to folks on a MEGO Collecting Web site, I was able to get my hands on some backdrops, "space chairs" and parts to make some MEGO Customs, and with some foam core and sand from a art store...little scenes from the funky 70's show have been created...

Did you know that Martin Landau was up for the roll of Spock on Star Trek? , and that Leonard Nimoy was on Mission Impossible after Laundau left... hand to God...true story

Space 1999 ... The Future (?) Was Groovy

Apparently there was a Mego doll released of Commander John Koenig , the leader of the Alphans, but it was only available in the UK. I dont ever remember it being in the states. In the past 4 years they have re-release repro /retros of the old series and added a few new characters. Sadly Commander John Koenig and Doctor Helena Russell are still MIA.

I bought a casted head off eBay of Martin Landau , plus a custom made outfit which comes fairly close to the style / appearance of his uniform and made my own... Dr Russell will soon follow... one day

And just like the Star Trek crew - I did the same head swap to created several Security guards and make the main pilot Alan Carter in his proper uniform, not the weird red flight suit they gave him.
